It consists of placing four titanium posts surgically into the jawbone. We use titanium because the body does not reject this metal, and build up around it in a process known as osseointegration. This helps keep the titanium posts sturdy and strong in your mouth. We then place the denture directly onto these four posts, giving you a natural-looking and attractive set of teeth. Benefits of Implant-Supported DenturesThere are many advantages to choosing to get an implant-supported denture. Not only do they look and feel like your own, real teeth, they also are more secure than dentures. This means that you will not have to shy away from your favorite foods, as you will have a good bite force with them. You can also keep them clean just like you would take care of real teeth, making their maintenance quite easy. You also will not have to worry about social faux pas that could occur with a traditional denture, as your implant-supported denture is not at risk of accidentally popping out of your mouth in a social situation. Traditional dental implants require adequate bone mass in the jaw, but implant-supported dentures require less jaw mass.
